History
PACKRAFT CANADA originally began as a group of packraft enthusiasts. The Packraft Canada Facebook group was formed in 2017 and maintained by volunteers for many years and growing to over 2000 members.
With many thanks to their volunteer efforts, several successful Packraft Round Up Events were held which brought together packrafters to promote the development of our sport.
In late 2025, a group of community members from the PACKRAFT CANADA group sought to advance the legitimacy and advocacy efforts for our sport in Canada and filed the paperwork to incorporate as a non-profit. PACKRAFT CANADA received a Federal incorporation charter as a non-profit on January 1 2026.

PACKRAFT CANADA is led by an all-volunteer Board of Directors with diverse skillsets and interests. Our first Annual General Meeting of Members' will be held in Fall of 2026 - stay tuned for details
